The College of Staten Island, as part of the CUNY LGBTQIA+ Consortium, is presenting the 7th Annual Black Queer Studies Lecture on the evening of Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Writer and speaker Robert Jones, Jr. will be the guest of honor at the event, which will held in CSI’s Green Dolphin Lounge from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.

The event, CC Clue Certified for CSI students, is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the CSI LGBTQ Resource Center and CLAGS: The Center for LGBTQ Studies at The Graduate Center, CUNY. Free pizza will be available.

Robert Jones, Jr. is the author of The New York Times bestselling novel, The Prophets, which won the 2022 Publishing Triangle Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction and was a finalist for the 2021 National Book Award for Fiction. His work has been featured in The New York TimesEssenceVariety, and The Paris Review, as well as in the critically acclaimed anthologies Four Hundred Souls and The 1619 ProjectThe Prophets was named one of “The 25 Most Influential Works of Postwar Queer Literature” by The New York Times.
